Mediations: Stanford's First Disability Studies Conference

Stanford is hosting its first ever disability studies conference at Stanford, Mediations: Disability, Technology, and the Arts, on May 18th, 2019.

We are proud to announce renowned disability and media scholar Elizabeth Ellcessor as our keynote speaker. The conference will include a series of panels throughout the day, with opportunity for a Q&A after presentations, a performance from the dance company, AXIS, and an exhibition of artworks by community members exploring disability representation.

The keynote, panels, performances, and exhibit will model interdisciplinary work turning the lens of disability studies on subjects as diverse as art, social media, police culture, media representations, gardening, and even academia itself. Our presenters are eager to share their passion, knowledge, and talent through their dynamic and interactive work.
