The Stanford Medicine Abilities Coalition (SMAC)

The Stanford Medicine Abilities Coalition will be composed of residents, fellows, postdocs, clinical and research faculty, and School of Medicine staff. The purpose of the organization is to:

  • Foster and advocate for the equal treatment and well-being of all students, trainees, faculty and staff at Stanford Medicine, regardless of their physical or cognitive differences.
  • Promote collaboration between people who are passionate about disability at Stanford Medicine.
  • Advocate for accessibility, resources and disability services at Stanford Medicine, above and beyond that required by law.
  • Promote disability as a part of human diversity, inclusivity, and equity.

Regardless of whether or not you have a disability, all who are interested are welcome to join. This is an initiative throughout the School of Medicine. To learn more, please contact Peter D. Poullos M.D., Clinical Associate Professor.
